Arranging locally
- Baía das Agulhas by boat: half- or full-day trips run by the lodges and by boatmen in Santo António, usually with snorkelling and a beach stop. Price is per boat, so sharing reduces the cost.
- Pico Papagaio: a guided half-day hike; guides are found through guesthouses and the park office.
- Birding and forest walks: ask for a guide with birding experience and start at dawn.
- Turtle watching: guided night visits at Praia Grande in season, run with the local conservation organisation.
Book the boat for your first full day on the island. If the sea is too rough, you then have spare days to try again.
